Interested in joining our mentorship program?

Here are some perks of becoming a Mushkiki Miikan Mentee:
  • Access Resources: explore summer outreach programs (youth and high school); learn about the medical school application process and receive application support (e.g. MCAT, Casper, application essays, Interview tips, and more).
  • Build Connections: connect with your pre-med community and current medical students or physicians who understand your journey and can provide tailored feedback and guidance on pathways to a career in medicine.
  • Personalized Support: one-on-one advising and mentorship from prospective, incoming, or current medical students who are committed to support you throughout your journey.
  • Community Empowerment: share your experiences, celebrate milestones, and navigate the challenges in the medical school application journey together as a community.

Want to become a Mushkiki Miikan Mentor?

  • We are seeking mentors for our Mentorship Program to support our mentees with their journey into medical school. This includes (but is not limited to) MCAT, ABS, CASPer, OMSAS application and interview support.
We are recruiting:
  • Indigenous applicants who recently received an acceptance offer to any Canadian Medical School
  • Indigenous Medical Students (any year)
  • Indigenous Resident or Attending Physicians
Expected Time Commitment:
  • Minimum 4 hours from May - September (Application pre-submission support period)
  • Minimum 3 hours from November - March (Post-submission and Interview support period)
