MedLinx
REGISTRATION: OPEN
MedLinx is a comprehensive program that runs from November to April and offers students a unique chance to gain real-world experience in healthcare through hands-on activities, mentorship, and academic workshops. The program is specifically designed to bridge the gap for students facing systemic barriers, including those from Black, Indigenous, Filipino, Latin American, racialized groups, or students who experience socio-economic challenges.

Summer Mentorship Program (SMP)
REGISTRATION: OPEN
The Summer Mentorship Program (SMP) gives high school students in grades 10-11 who self-identify as Indigenous or Black African, Black Caribbean, Black North American, multi-racial students who have and identify with their Black ancestry a chance to explore health sciences at the University of Toronto over four weeks in July.
to apply, you must be:
  • Grade 10 or 11
  • Completed a Grade 10 Science course in the academic stream (e.g. SNC2D)
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Complete the Application Form

STEAM Design Program (STEAM-D)
REGISTRATION: OPEN
The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) Design Program is an experiential learning program with an equity focus, as it is designed for grades 10-11 students identifying with groups that are underrepresented in health sciences (i.e. Black, Indigenous, Filipino, Latin American, racialized, and/or from any background experiencing socio-economic barriers). Priority is given to students from underserved schools and neighborhoods. Emphasis is placed on research and design as we challenge our learners to design solutions to healthcare system issues.
to apply, you must be:
  • Grade 10 or 11
  • Completed a Grade 10 Science course in the academic stream (e.g. SNC2D) or any Grade 11 science course (U/M/C stream)
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Complete the Application Form

Medicine Youth Summer Program (MED-YSP)
REGISTRATION: CLOSED
Med YSP offers students the opportunity to learn about science/medicine and conduct life science labs. Join students from across Canada and the World to explore various diseases, the next generation of treatments, and what it takes to become a health professional.

Building the Fire, Walking with Medicine Program (ZKA’AN NI-BMIWDOOWIN GCHI-KINOOMAADWINAN)
REGISTRATION: CLOSED
ZKA’AN NI-BMIWDOOWIN GCHI-KINOOMAADWINAN, Building the Fire, Walking with Medicine is a one-week program for Indigenous students in grades 9 and 10 with an interest in exploring healthcare opportunities. This program is run collaboratively with the University of Toronto Temerty Faculty of Medicine’s Office of Access and Outreach (OAO) and the Office of Indigenous Health, ZKA’AN NI-BMIWDOOWIN GCHI-KINOOMAADWINAN, and will provide 10 youth with culturally safe and trauma-informed programming with opportunities to build long-lasting relationships from within the program. With greater exposure to Indigenous leadership, knowledges, governance systems and healing practices, participants were encouraged to reflect on the environment around them and were empowered to carve their own meaningful paths forward, walking with confidence, a greater sense of connection, purpose, and community.
